I've had many people wondering where to get my weather gauge I use in my emails. Well there was a site that had various styles and has since been deleted but fortunately I had the parts saved.

It is done in two sections. The left side is a plain one and can be decorated and the city or state annotated onto it. The right side is with the temperature and time and has to be done with the codes of the city and state you live in so that the right temperature will show up on it.

Below I will put the url of the left side and please upload it to your own site for safe keeping. The right side gauge will be what I have in the display below and all you do is change the state name using the abbreviation of it and the city you want to show the temperature and time.

Find a flower or whatever you want to composite on the left side and put it West+0+0. Size it so it's no higher than 41 pixels since your gauge is 41 in height. For the name of the city or state go to Annotate and put it East+0+0 (I used East as Connecticut was long and fit right but if you have a short name you can use Center) and I used 28 for the point size and whatever font you wish to use. I used the brock font. That's all you do. Upload it and the frame goes around it when you put the codes below that you will cut, copy and paste (cc&p). If you don't want the frame around it, just eliminate the table codes which is the frame codes.

Here's the plain banner to use for your own decoration:

This is how you put it in your sig box:

I used pink for the border frame but you can use your own color of course:

Upload the part for the right side so you will have it to use again for any city and state just changing the last part using the code as shown below.
Here's the right side temp gauge.

NOTE: Thinking about how to decorate the left side banner with another idea, I came up with this method.

Take a background to Image Magick and resize it the size of the plain left side banner (190x41). Put an exclamation point after it so you get the right size. Now output it as a gif or jpg. I did cc&p for the url. Now go back with your back button and go to Input and put in the url of the plain banner I have above. Now go to Composite and put the url you have of the bg and using Center +0+0 and MULTIPLY and composite. You keep the shape of the banner by using Multiply. (Example below) You can also keep the design of your background by using Multiply and Misc. If you don't use Multiply it flattens the banner.

Another way is to take a plain one and go to Gifworks and use Cylinder but that's extra work.

You can also go to the bottom and make a GRADIENT bg and that can be used. You can also use PLASMA and I made one using skyblue-white. (Example below). Just experiment and see what you can come up with. Lots prettier than a plain old gray banner now, isn't it?
