Let's Swirl

Using the effect of Swirl under FX at Image Magick can be used with dingbats or flowers and can create some very interesting patterns.

I've used it as a background compositing flowers in front and makes a pretty image.

What I've presented here is some dingbats using swirl and then making a circle and compositing an image inside of it. So many different ways of using them.

Note: Adding around your dingbat before swirl gives it more room for the swirl effect. First go to trim to make it even all around and then go to Decorate and you can add either the bg color or even use None and border and at least 30x30. You can crop it off after you're done with the swirl.

I used this image by using Matte inside the oval and Dstover. Notice only part of the swirl took and gave it a different look to the oval.

Step 1. Image Magick with a 300x300 white background. Go to Annotate and use Davy Dingbats under the Fonts. For this one I used the semi-colon ; +0+0 North -- Point size 150 -- Color - #663366 Annotate

Step 2. Now to Transform and use Flip Leaving everything the same just change the coordinates to +0+12 North. This will join one to the other to make one full circle.

Step 3. Up to FX and use Swirl 150 -- Now at this point you can leave it for a background or as I've done draw a circle in the center. Ellipse -- 150,150 70,70 0,360 Fill Color White -- Stroke #9c8c59 Width 2 Matte out the inside and composite a jpg using Dstover or don't matte out and comp a "gif". I resized it to 400x400 to fit my jpg into it and then resized it down to 350x350. I used Trim to make it even all around and then added 30x30 white under Decorate so I could put a rectangle around it.

Example using Letter C (placing it +0+0 Center):

Some other nice ones to try this with are using the letter C and another one is using the number 2.
