Oval Spread Edges

I've revised this tute I previously made over two years ago which had too many steps to do and this is so much easier and faster.

Step 1. This is done with a picture that has a background. If the picture doesn't have a background and it's a "gif" (transparent background), you've got it made - you just have to composite the image onto the oval.

Step 2. Now go to I.M. and put in a background color of your choice making it 300x300 Go to DRAW - ELLIPSE. coordinates 150,150 100,120 0,360

(the first 2 numbers are 1/2 of the 300x300 - the 3rd and 4th can be half the size of your picture, depending on what your image is. Mine is one done at PSP on my pc so used that one and it doesn't show the frame and was able to get just the flowers in.

Stroke color #9c8c59 Stroke Width 5 (no fill color)

Step 3. Now make a rectangle 15,15 285,285 Stroke Width 5

Step 4. Go to Effects and use 4 in box and click on Spread then do Matte (leave all other boxes as is) inside of oval and composite your image using Dstover

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your oval won't matte out which has happened, just go to Ellipse and enter same numbers and a stroke of 2 in same color you used for Ellipse and then do matte so there isn't any breakage from the spread which may cause the whole bg to also get matted) I made a frame using Decorate - border of 5x5 in gray and then a Frame 12x12+3+3 (this is optional and so is the rectangle if you don't want one)

Output as a JPG and optimize. Here are the images I used and final picture.

Here's another one I made making the ellipse in 2 sizes (15 pixels larger) then you can Matte it out and Composite and Dstover using a background of a design. I used a pansy bg and to make it brighter I used Normalize then did the spread.
