Imploding


There have been directions on using these patterns so this is not my original but I have incorporated some of my own ideas using this technique of imploding using a pattern.

You can implode any picture etc but with the pattern it gives a nice lacy effect around the implode.

If you are wondering, what is implode? It's a feature under FX at Image Magick that explodes the center of an image etc. and can be different with whatever numbers you use. I have another tute on Implode under Lee's Tutorials where you can see the many things done with this effect.

Go to I.M. and scroll to bottom (to get there I put in a base gif or an url) then use INPUT and that will allow you to go to the bottom but delete the url in the status bar.



Step 1. size - 300x350
Meta - octagons
click on box and choose "pattern"
Up to View

Step 2. Enhance - Negate (black)
Fx and implode -20

Step 3. To matte out center make an ellipse
Ellipse: 150,175 100,120 0,360 - white fill color
Paint area Use Fuzz 7777 and Matte by clicking center (transparent bg if using a jpg)

Composite this jpg using Dstover

Step 4. Draw - Rectangle: +0+0 +300+350 Stroke Color only - black -Stroke 7
Decorate 3x3 #333333 Border
Output as a Jpg - Truecolor - JPG and Quality 35
