Again as I was working on my last tute and making another image with it and using a globe, I saw a hat in the works. "S". So here are the steps to take and it's not difficult. I make my tutes rather lengthy but it's so you will grasp exactly what steps need to be taken.
Step 1. To start this you need a clear gif of 300x300 which you can make at Image Magic scrolling down to the format and using none for color and xc. Now up to view and you have a clear background to now work on.
Step 2. Go up to Draw - Circle. Offset numbers: 150,150 110,110 Color Fill White
Step 3. We have to now draw a rectangle around our globe and so you go to Draw - Rectangle 20,20 280,280 Stroke Color White - Stroke Width one.
Step 4. Now we need to make this circle become round and we do this by going to Effects 50x50 and BLUR. Surprised? By having a surrounding rectangle it serves as what I've named it the "yeast" to make the globe rise. ":-)"
Step 5. Now we want to color this using a background of your choice and using Multiply - Misc box Center. Now the whole thing is covered but your globe is still raised. It became darker when you do the blur so we will now go to Enhance and Gamma 4.5. (This you will adjust lower or higher whichever works best for your background colors).NOTE: Since making this tute I found you can use the Enhance and Gamma when it is white before you put your background on to lighten the edges. See which way works best for you.
Step 6. Now we want to leave everything as is and go back to cut out brim - Draw - circle : 150,150 40,40 Stroke Width 125 and usually use a color not in the background you are using and in the one I did, white worked out well. Take the checkmark out of the box below that says Antialias. This is supposed to keep the edges from getting too raggy so I heard (but doesn't always work ??) Now you have a hat. hooray. But we have to get rid of that white we put around with that biggie number 125. Just go down to Matte, click on the area you want taken out and voila -- there's your picture hat.
Step 7. Looks a little bare. We need to decorate it. Let's put a hatband on it. Up to Draw - circle same numbers 150,150 110,110 Stroke Color your choice - Stroke width 5 or larger (your choice).
Step 8. Find a bow or flowers and decorate. Now you want to trim off the excess. You can go to Transform - Trim and put a checkmark in the box "reset geometry". Output as a "gif" "single file". That's it folks. Hope you try this out and any comments are welcome in my guestbook found in my main index. Say something nice now and no spam please. Thanks. ~Lee~
Check out my other tutorials, you may find something else you'd like to learn. They are really not difficult to do as long as you follow step by step. I try to spell it out as I make one and try not to skip anything to help you accomplish the project. I've added my page of bows that you may use.
