Make A Frame Using A Font
Playing around with fonts I came up with using the letter B in Annotate and the font "brock" and "vergennes". I made up a couple of samples and they are super easy even though it looks like a lot of steps. Try one and you will be hooked.
:-)
Go to Image Magick and put in a 400x400 transparent bg or a color of your choice.Step 1.
Annotate letter B in the box +15+40 Northwest -- I like to use Fill instead of Stroke(fills in letters better) #9c8c59 Stroke Width 1 -- Point size 150 -- type in FONT URL..... http://www.wtv-zone.com/MsLee/Fonts/brock.ttf -- Rotate 20
Everything will be the same except the location of the font and watch for the rotation number for NW is 20 and for North is 50
Step 2. Annotate +25+25 North Rotation 50 everything else same.
Step 3. Transform and check FLIP
Step 4. Annotate +15+40 NW Rotation 20
Step 5. Transform and check FLOP
Step 6. Annotate +15+40 NW Rotation 20
Step 7. Annotate +25+25 N rotation 50
Step 8. Transform and check FLIP
Step 9. Annotate +15+40 NW rotation 20
At this point you can now make a circle, an ellipse or a rectangle, whatever, but you must use a FILL COLOR to cover up the center where all the letters meet. You can matte it out and comp a jpg using DSTOVER or just a gif using OVER without matte.
Here's some numbers you can try to see if you can use them or change them smaller or larger.
Draw: Circle: 200,200 100,100 Fill White Stroke #9c8c59 Stroke width 2
Draw: Ellipse: 200,200 110,130 0,360 rest same as circle
Round Rectangle: 60,80 340,320 35,35 (same as above)

Now here's another one I did using the font: http://www.wtv-zone.com/MsLee/Fonts/Vergennes.ttf
Working in the same way as the one above I'll give the steps and numbers.
Step 1. Use a blank of 310x400 color used wheat Use Annotate -- Letter B +20+0 Northwest --- I used #9c8c59 in Fill color instead of stroke Width 1--- Point Size 120 --- Rotation 15 (rotation stays same throughout)Step 2. Annotate+20+0 North use all same as above
Step 3. Transform and check FLOP
Step 4. Annotate +20+0 NW
Step 5. Transform and check FLIP
Step 6. Annotate +20+0 NW
Step 7. Annotate +20+0 N
Step 8. Transform and check FLOP
Step 9. Annotate +20+0 NW
Draw: Ellipse: 155,200 105,130 0,360 Fill wheat Stroke #9c8c59 Width 2.
Floodfill -- Matte out center and comp in the image using Dstover.

NOTE: In my header image, in order to fill in with a bg, I had to matte out every little section and then filled it in with a glass background. It took a little time, but the only way I know how to do it and then using Dstover and Misc once it's matted out.
Here's another style forming a wreath, using the brock ttf(url at beginning of tute) and the letter M
TEMPLATES if you don't want to draw:

http://www.wtv-zone.com/MsLee/TEMPLATES/letterM.gif

Step 1. Transparent background of 100x65. Annotate the letter M ...+0+0 WEST .. fill #796837 ... stroke width 2.....Transform and use FLOP. Now go to Annotate again and same step. They are now back to back. Output and save as a gif.
Step 2. Now put on a transparent background of 240x240 to make the wreath. Composite double letter
North +0+0
composite and use NorthWest +0+50 Rotate -55 (minus)
Again, composite and use NorthEast +0+50 Rotate 55
Go to Transform - use FLIP
Step 3. Doing the same steps in Step 2 first one North +0+0
then the Northwest +0+50 Rotate -55 ...
then Northeast +0+50 Rotate 55 DONE.
You can make a center ellipse and composite a gif or matte it out and use Dstover using a jpg.
Draw ... Ellipse... 120,120 80,95 0,360 Stroke color #796837 Stroke of 2
