Drawing Polygons With Translate

You can do so many different designs with Draw at Image Magick and it just requires a little bit of math to make something out of the ordinary.

Here I will try to explain how I did a polygon. Don't be alarmed at all the numbers. It just requires cut-copy-paste (cc&p) the numbers to insert into the box in Draw and clicking on polygon. Once those numbers are there, you don't touch them at all to do this project.

Let's get started.

Step 1. Put on a background of 300x300. You can use white. Now cc&p these numbers in the coordinate box:
100,50 200,50 250,100 250,200 200,250 100,250 50,200 50,100 100,50
Color Fill NONE Stroke
(your choice) I used #9c8c59 Stroke Width 2

Step 2. Now all you need to do is go to Draw again and using same numbers just go down to the Translate box and put in 10.0,0.0 (actually all you have to do is put a one in front of the first 0 - so easy)

Step 3. Back to Draw same but this time use -10

Step 4. Go to Transform Rotate Right Now Draw and using exact steps again use 10 one time and then -10 next time and you are done.

Now the toughest part is matting out the parts you want to color and I used Dstover and Misc to put in the background. I colored in the other blank ones using the paint feature Color - Floodfill and you may need Fuzz 7777. For the center you can composite a "gif" or matte out and comp a jpg using Dstover. I left the background white but that too you can matte out and comp a background using Dstover Misc or just color it. Finished image:
