My Door Tute

Once again here is a tute for a fun project I made last year or so and decided to pass it on if anyone is interested. It was really pretty easy to figure one out with a little bit of imagination and patience. LOL So here goes and hope you can use it and decorate for your email sigs. Please upload the finished door if you want it as I do tend to change or delete at times. ~Lee~

Here's a wood bg. I don't seem to have saved the original background I used for my door shown below. But remember, any color background will do and even a solid color such as red would be nice for a Christmas door.(P.S. added one - see below)

Here is the one for the window which I made also.

Now the first thing we want to do is find a wood looking background to use for the door. Resize your selection (or use mine) but you have to make it 60x60 for the panels from it first and upload and save to composite onto the door. To make a panel after resizing it to 60x60 you then go to Decorate Use 4x4 and None and Sunken. Now output and upload to save it as a jpg - single file..

Step 1. Now take the beginning url of your background for the door and resize bg. to 160x280. Always add an exclamation point (!) after your numbers or they will not be what you want) Go to Decorate 5x5 and Raise no color. Now you have a raised edge to the door.

Step 2. Composite url of your 60x60 panel and you will be placing this onto the door 4 times. First coordinates to use in Composite +20+125 Northwest. Composite +20+200 NorthWest.Again -Composite +80+125 NorthWest last one - Composite +80+200 Northwest. You should now have 4 panels in the bottom of the door.

Step 3. Now for the window. You can use my window to composite. It's a little tricky to make and I'm still not that good at all the drawing of lines so to make it easy for you and me (LOL) let's use the ready-made one. Window - Composite +0+30 North.

Step 4. Now for a doorknob. You can find a real one but I was in a hurry and just used Annotate - letter 0 - font Almost Now - Size 28 - color #220000 Placed the knob SouthWest +6+108. That's all folks. Enjoy
Finished door:

Decided to make a red door with a different type of window. All directions are the same but when doing the little square windows I made one 40x40 and then did sunken 4x4. I placed the first one +13+25 Northwest, 2nd one +0+25 North and the 3rd one +110+25 Northwest. I placed my wreath +0+55 North

A nice lady sent me a french door she made(see below) after reading my post of the door tute. Thanks Cathy. Click on and visit her site.

Step 1. To make the french door first color in with a background same as you do with using IN and MISC at Image Magick. I found out that with the 2.9 upgrade which I have, this method doesn't work any more so I have to use ATOP instead. Remember, after you color in with this method, for some reason it flattens the sides so just take it back to Decorate and raise it again.

Step 2. Now find a scene and make it the size of 2 doors that will be composited onto the scene. The double doors will measure 380x310 so this is what your scene should be resized to.

Step 3. Now to complete this, put your scene in at Image Magick (should be 380x310) and composite one door West and the other East.

Step 4. For the handles put the left handle +135+0 West and the right handle +135+0 East

I made another french door and when I composited both doors at once before I colored them in with my background it lost the look of two doors so had to draw a line down the center and then decided to try with a few more lines around to decorate. This was a challenge not really knowing too much about drawing lines. I flipped and flopped till I was dizzy but got it made. Here's my sample which I did make a little smaller after I completed it.:

P.S. After talking with a friend of mine , she suggested 4 rows of glass and she was kind enough to make one by cropping and putting it together and making it with a nice background for me. Thanks Gloria. Here's the blank door:

Here it is using the same scenery and would love to be sitting out there next to those lovely flowers. I need a break. LOL
