On this seventh anniversary
of terror striking in our land
Let us form a loving prayer chain
By reaching out a caring hand
Let's all take time out to honor
All who lost their lives that day
And every year on September eleventh
Let us bow our heads and pray
Let us pray for tolerance
And divine strength from above
Turn our swords into plowshares
And our hatred into love.
Give us hearts of true forgiveness
Leave the judgment unto You
Help us seek Your love and guidance
Only You can see us through
Tears will fall, pain will surface
But we can use it for Thy good.
Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim
Hand-in-hand in brotherhood
Let us remember no one's perfect
All have sinned and gone astray
But You'll forgive our every weakness
Set our feet back on Your way!
Lift our hearts from all this darkness
Let us see the Light above.
Generated by forgiveness
And Your ever present love
So hold your neighbor's hand in prayer
And fellowship and Christian love
Praying for our own forgiveness
From our Father up above!
