HEALTH CARE:
Something just must be done about the constantly rising cost of health care in our country. It is estimated that currently there are over 45 million uninsured Americans, and that number is sure to increase dramatically over the next four years. So some kind of health care reform bill will almost certainly be passed during the next administration. Obama's plan is a type of Universal Health care, under his plan the government will play a vital role in the health care industry, and America will have taken just one more giant step towards Socialism.
Some type of Social Security reform is going to have to be enacted during the next administration also to assure that this very important entitlement program remains solvent.
Medicare and Medicaid also face huge financial problems down the road that will need to be dealt with. The problems facing America seem to be endless and I don't really know which candidate would do the better job of coming up with workable solutions to many of them, that is something every voter is going to have to decide for themselves, then hope and pray they made the right choice. To tell you the truth I don't think we should give too much credence to what either candidate promises to do to fix things. We all know most of those promises are never kept anyhow, politicians historically promise any and everything they think will get them elected. In case you didn't know it politics in America is a dirty business, and getting dirtier with each year that passes. Personally I think it's more important to find out all you can about the candidates before deciding who to vote for, I have always done that. The better the man the better president he will be, I really believe this.
The following are just a few more of the serious issues facing America today, issues on which I would like you to know Sen. Obama's views.
ABORTION:
Obama supports abortion rights and is a co-sponsor of a Senate bill called the Freedom of Choice Act that would declare it a fundamental policy of the United States that a woman has a right to get an abortion. If enacted, the bill would invalidate any federal or state law that interfered with a woman's right to get an abortion. It would, for instance, make void any state law requiring that parents of a daughter under age 18 be notified when she seeks an abortion. The bill would give women the right to file civil suits against any person or government agency that sought to limit their ability to get an abortion.
In 1997, while a Illinois State Senator, Obama voted against SB 230, which would have turned doctors into felons by banning so-called partial-birth abortion, & also voted against a bill in 2000 banning state funding. The legislation defined a fetus as a person, & could have criminalized virtually all abortion.

United States Senator Obama denounced the Supreme Court 2007 decision which upheld the ban on the procedure known as partial-birth abortion, in which a nearly fully developed fetus is partially removed from the womb before the doctor ends its life.
I wonder how many reading this actually know what a "partial birth abortion" is. It is so horrendous it is almost beyond belief that anything so terrible might actually become legal in the United States. For those who don't really know what this procedure consists of I would like to explain it, and then if you still think such a procedure should be legal in the United States then all I know to say is that I feel very sorry for you, and I pray you will one day come to realize that you are condoning premeditated cold blooded murder, there is no other word for it!!!!!
This diagram tells it all, do you still think partial birth abortions should be legal? Sen. Barack Obama does.
This type of procedure, also called late term or tri-mester abortions, are typically performed between the sixth- eighth month of pregnancy and sometimes even into the ninth month. In a partial birth abortion the doctor first rotates the baby into a breach position, then the entire infant is delivered except the head. Next a pair of scissors is jammed into the base of the baby's skull. A tube is inserted into the skull, and the brain is sucked out. The now-dead infant is pulled out. Does the baby feel pain during this procedure? Your bet your life it does, pain beyond anything you could imagine!!!!! "There are no medical circumstances in which a partial-birth abortion is the only safe alternative., doctors who refuse to perform such abortions say there are plenty of alternatives.
Vanderbilt University
AMA News, Nov. 20, 1995:
. . . This is clearly a procedure no obstetrician needs to do."( F. Boehm, Dr. OB, Vanderbilt U. Med. The Washington Times, May 6, 1966)
Mt. Sinai Hospital
Dr. Pamela Smith, Director of Medical Education, Dept. of Ob-Gyn at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Chicago, has stated: "There are absolutely no obstetrical situations encountered in this country which would require partial- birth abortion to preserve the life or health of the mother."
Joseph DeCook, Fellow, Am. Col., Ob/Gyn, founder of PHACT (Physicians Ad Hoc Coalition for Truth), stated: "There is no literature that testifies to the safety of partial birth abortions. It's a maverick procedure devised by maverick doctors who wish to deliver a dead fetus.
PARENTAL RIGHTS:
Sen. Obama supports the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, a treaty that would have disastrous consequences for the American family. This treaty would be, according to our Constitution, part of the Supreme law of the land and would override state law.
The Committee on the Rights of the Child is the official UN tribunal granted the authority to interpret and enforce the Children's Convention, which sets forth an exhaustive index of children's rights, many at odds with the rights of parents.

What this means in plain English is that the UN has determined that the government will decide for all of us what is best for our children. The government has authority to intervene in decisions regarding a child's education. The government will choose whether the child's wishes or the parent's wishes are the best for children. Obama has clearly demonstrated his elitist core values in this matter.

And not only do the UN experts believe that they need to control parents who might make misguided choices, they must control our state legislatures as well. We cannot trust American elected officials to make our public policy choices relative to parents and children. We must impose upon them an elaborate set of enforceable UN mandates that control the economic, social, cultural, civil, and political rights of children and their parents.
Obama wants to turn every family and every state legislature over to the supervision of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. They will condescendingly tell us why our traditional desires for our children are not acceptable in this day and age. They will explain us to ourselves and to others while usurping control of our family and utterly destroying the principle of American self-government. Do you want the United Nations to take over the raising of your child and teach them only what they want them to believe? Obama thinks this should be done, but I bet he wouldn't let the U.N. take away his parental rights, guess he thinks elitists like himself don't have to abide by the rules us "common people" do.
GUN CONTROL:
"He was somebody that we considered a friend," the executive director of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, Thomas Mannard, said. "We certainly considered him a solid vote on legislation we would have supported." Mr. Mannard said Mr. Obama received "A" ratings from gun control organizations, and he cited his support for a ban on assault weapons and for measures strengthening background check systems.
The executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association, Richard Pearson, similarly described Mr. Obama as "a strong gun control person." "I have not known him to ever vote for a pro-gun bill," Mr. Pearson said. Obama drew the ire of gun owners when he voted with a minority of lawmakers in 2004 AGAINST a bill affirming a homeowner's right to use a firearm in self-defense against an intruder. Despite Mr. Obama's opposition, the Illinois Legislature overrode a veto by the governor to approve the bill. So I think it's pretty clear that Sen. Obama definitely comes down on the side of gun control. Many of our forefathers warned us the right of the American people to keep and bear arms was the only defense we have to keep our country from being taken over by power hungry tyrants. Does the thought of a U.S. president who is is favor of taking away our only means to defend ourselves bother you at all? it sure scares the heck out of me!!!!!
