To what our Lord would say
Turned our backs to the call of God
And gone our selfish way?
How many times have we shut our eyes
To Truth so plain and clear
And stubbornly remained caught up in our sins
When His Spirit drew us near?
How many times have we clinched our hand
And denied a friend in need
Failing to reach out in love and give
With a kind, unselfish deed?
How many times have we walked on by
A troubled, hurting brother
Too busy to care, and have compassion
Too preoccupied to help another?
God, forgive us for the many times
We've failed to follow You
Help us to be more sensitive and caring
And always ask: "What would Jesus do?"
