Also called Quoting Smallifying is the process used to quote or repeat that which someone has written in an e-mail or posted in a newsgroup. Here is how you do it...written in a straight-forward, easy to follow, step-by-step manner. 1. Use Cut & Paste (CCP) to place the text where you want it. 2. Make any alterations to the text NOW. See note A below. 3. Place the cursor at the beginning of the first line. 4. Type the > symbol. 5. Press CMD + right arrow. 6. Press RETURN. 7. Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 for each line that you want to smallify. That's all there is to it! Here are some notes to keep you ahead of the game. A. Step number 2 above is very important. After you've completed the process, you need to leave the text alone ...hands off, if you will...because the smallifyed text could get really messed up. B. Always be sure to press RETURN at the end of the last line. Not doing so is a common error. C. You will not see the "smallifyed" text on your screen...but the receiver of your message will. D. Don't worry about the spaces created when you type the > symbol. They're normal for the process. E. Sometimes when you press RETURN, the next line of text will drop down one line...as if making a new paragraph. Simply use the Delete key to move that line back to where you want it. Now, give it a try. Take part of this message...run the routine...and send it to yourself. Try not to rush the process...let it come to you. Go slow at first...your speed will increase as you become more comfortable with the routine. Happy smallifying! |
