Comedian

Jerome Seinfeld
Cambridge, MA Circa '86. Loaded up with my trusty 35mm Pentax, lenses, and a bag of Kodak Tri-X black and white film, I took my little sister to Catch A Rising Star in Harvard Square. Saturday night, a good couple of years before the television program hit. Like Claudia, he was a decent, regular pal; hanging out, being a little goofy, and turning no one away who had attention and questions, or a hand to shake, or a menu to sign. I remember there was a Red Sox/Yankee game on a small, color TV behind the bar, to the right of the modest little stage Jerry had used to crack up the room. After his set, he kept eyeing it while he entertained the fans who kept approaching. You felt then that the kid was not to be denied. His crooked smile made an impression that lingered. I cherish this picture, and love my little sister's little head, bobbing about in the background. She adored Jerome. Still does, twenty years later. Should you venture here, Jerry (stretch yer imaginations), let me now thank you for being so warm and accomidating to a young photog, hungry for knowledge and artistic kicks!
You Were There!
