SHORLINE CONVERSATION [Hull Beach, Cape Cod MA 2006]

I will never go to the beach without the camera. If it's crowded, you get a chance at some of the most photogenic moments. This is an example of using Photoshop to make a photo appear painterly. This a single version of a photo-source which can be transformed into an unlimited number of versions. Ode here to Norman Rockwell. Life in Hull is still very Rockwellian, even in this day and age of madness and societal meltdown. Here is a chance to return to better times; the whole area is one big flashback for me, as I spent my first summers at my great-grandparents' house, on "K" Street, right off the Atlantic ocean. I will often plan a painting by enhancing an image like this, just to begin the cycle of possible ideas and approaches to the from-a-photograph-to-a-painting transformations.
