DADDY [Detail: Spider and Pattern Design]
The digital camera I'm using has an awfully nice zoom and macro settings. Very sensitive to light, with pin-point auto-focus. I find this image particularly fascinating, because my entire life I've been seeing these common long-legs, and the body---to the naked eye---appeared to me as just a tiny, brown pebble. A barley. Here we see the evidence of a grand creative force, with the patterns communicating to me a mathematical and mysterious cosmic plan. When the outside world gets to be a little too much now and again, there's nothing like a long, quiet walk through the New England woods, communing with the silent creatures, and documenting their movements and forms.
