SINATRA ON CANVAS [Blue Sinatra]


Let's begin with one of my Paintings. This portrait of Frank is acrylic on canvas, 36x48. This "MOD ICON" is one example of a piece included in a continuing series featuring cultural icons from whom I've gained creative or artistic inspiration. This particular canvas was actually commissioned by Jim Murphy, a long-time friend and patron, who is quite passionate about memorabilia and celebrities, from all walks of life, and has purchased portraits of musicians, athletes, historical figures, and countless other world-renowned personalities, most notably Elton John and Muhammad Ali. In fact, Jim has been able to meet both these men, and get each to personally autograph several of my portraits. Over the last decade, I've had about 12 of my canvases signed by each. At this stage, Jim has built an impressive collection of my original artworks, including portraits of many other celebs, several having been signed by the subject, as well. Ideally, Jim and I would like to sell the signed pieces as a set to a serious and passionate investor, involved with art & memorabilia. Jim's collection has grown quite large, and includes non-figuration too. But mainly, he and several associates of his, have had a fever for the iconic imagery. Frank's been a huge influence in my life, certainly.
