Making a Cross-Hatched Frame
Using Path
A Help Page by Mary

I came across this image on the web and wondered if the background could be copied, using Path.

Make a blank 460x460.
Click on draw at the top and choose Path from the menu.
Put these numbers in the number area.

M14,61 446,61 M14,77 446,77 M14,93 446,93 M14,109 446,109 M14,125 446,125 M14,141 446,141 M14,157 446,157

Put a stroke color and a stroke width of 10. Click draw.

Click on transform and choose Rotate Right.

Repeat the draw above until you have done four sides.

To make the inside rectangle, click on Draw and choose rectangle.
Put these numbers in the slot.
90,90 370,370
Put a fill color in and click draw.

To make the outside border, use Path.
Use these numbers.
M0,0 460,0 460,460 0,460 0,0
Put a stroke color in and a stroke width of 30.

If you want to outline the center rectangle, choose Path.
Use these numbers.
M90,90 370,90 370,370 90,370 90,90
Put a stroke color in and a stroke width of 1 or 2.

I wanted to composite a gif in the center and use Dave's shadow tool. That's why I matted out the background of this one. Here it is after using the shadow tool and resized smaller.

Here's another example. This example hasn't been matted out but the center could easily be matted out for a gif.
