~~Offset Numbers~~
A Help Page by Mary
There have been many pages written explaining offset numbers. This is just my interpretation.
In order to determine the approximate off-set numbers, try this
method. I will usually use Redux Image Magick but the other Image Magicks will work just as well.
Take your image to Image Magick. On the first page where you see your picture, click on the picture. Move the yellow arrow to the place that you want the top left of your name to start and click.
On the next page, scroll down and write down the first two numbers that are under the picture. These numbers always use Northwest as the gravity and are the numbers you will put in the off-set slot when you annotate or composite an image.
The first number is the number of pixels from the left side. The second number is the number of pixels from the top.
It will depend on what font you have chosen and the point size you use. This is where I tweak the numbers. (Definition of my tweaking is increasing or decreasing the numbers.) The left number will move your image or annotation horizontally and the right number will move them vertically. So
increase or decrease the numbers to get your image or annotation where you want it.
Hope this helps a little in determining the placement of your names, etc.
