Draw An Envelope
A Help Page by Mary
I got this image through a tube group and thought it'd be good practice to try to copy it. I needed to transcribe my notes before I forgot what I had done.
I used point and click for all the important points of the envelope and note. I then used Path to draw it. Make a blank 425x452.
Here are my numbers---
M36,193 L40,193 148,301 256,301 364,193 368,193 368,385 36,385 36,193 M36,193 L200,17 368,193 360,193 200,29 40,197 36,193
Use lightsteelblue in the fill color and also in the stroke color with a width of 2.
Color the inside of the envelope cornsilk or a color of your choice.
Composite a tiny flower on the flap using--
-10+50 and North.
Here's the flower I used. For printer's convenience, the url is http://www.wtv-zone.com/Kitkat3l/Help_Pages_2/Blue_roses_1_keep.gif.
Composite the same flower on the envelope using---
+42+100 and Northwest.
Go to Draw again and choose Path. Put these numbers in the slot.
M40,97 L364,97 364,193 280,277 124,276 40,191
Fill color will be rgba(255,255,255,0.50)
Go to Draw again and add these numbers to the numbers already in the slot.
M276,279 L124,279 M40,191 L40,97
Use lightsteelblue ONLY in the stroke and use a width of 2.
Go to Draw again and choose path. Put these numbers in the slot--
M148,300 L36,386 M256,302 L368,386
No fill - in stroke color, put rgba(105,105,105,0.30) and width of 1. Resize the envelope to 350x.
I wanted to rotate my envelope. I output the envelope as a jpg and kept the url in my memory. Back up to your envelope, choose reset, color and white under image. Click image. Resize the white to 500x500. Composite the image (from your memory) using +0+0 and Center.
Click transform at the top. Put -20 in the slot and choose Rotate.
Now to crop.
Click transform at the top. Put the dimensions of your image in the slot and +507+497. (Look in the status bar for the dimensions.) Choose chop.
Put the new dimensions in the slot and +126+152. Choose crop. Be sure to checkmark the square at the bottom resetting the geometry.
Here is my finished envelope on white
