Small Scoped Christmas Tree

A Help Page by Mary

I'm a beginner at scoping pictures but am anxious to share what I've learned from so many talented people. I would urge you to check out this newsgroup (News:alt.discuss.clubs.public.arts-lit.misc.tablesnscopes) and this newsgroup (News:alt.discuss.audioscopes) to see the beautiful creations that can be made. Thanks, everyone for all your help!!

An audioscope will be put in a centered table with either a table background or a bgcolor. After the <tr> and <td valign="top"> you will have something similar to this--

<audioscope bgcolor="color" width="??" height="??" rightcolor="??" leftcolor="??" rightoffset="?" leftoffset="?" gain="?">

The right and left colors can be the same or different colors to compliment the bgcolor.

Visualize an invisible line through the middle of a row - on one side is the rightoffset number and on the other side is the leftoffset number. Generally the sum of these two would be less than the height of the scope.

Gain is the speed of the scope and varies with different numbers and different music.

These are just some simple rules but they can all be changed - that's the fun of audioscopes - trying different numbers and colors. Now, on to the fun!!

Here is the pattern we will be working with.

On your printed pattern, number down the left side 1 thru 7. Each square will be counted as 10x10.

Look at the top row. It has three blanks, one scoped square and three blanks. Start Row 1 with <spacer type="block" width="30" height="10>

Then your audioscope text---<audioscope bgcolor="green" width="10" height="10" rightcolor="white" leftcolor="white" rightoffset="4" leftoffset="-4" gain="20"><br>. We don't need spacers for the spaces on the right. Put a break <br> at the end of each row.

Row 2 will start with two spacer blocks, then three scoped blocks. The two spacers would be 20 wide and 10 tall. The blocks would be 30 wide and 10 tall.

Continue down the seven rows checking each row after you finish it. Put your closing tags when you're done. </td></tr></table></center></body></html>.

And very important---select a midi that has good rhythm to make your scope react to it.

Here is the finished Christmas Tree.
