Simple Composite by Mary
A Composite Exercise Using Point and Click

This is a worksheet for practice in the art of compositing. We will be putting a colorful leaf arrangement in a basket.
Here is the basket. The url for the basket is http://www.wtv-zone.com/Kitkat3l/Help_Pages/basket_keep.jpg
Here is the fall arrangement.. The url for the arrangement is http://www.wtv-zone.com/Kitkat3l/Help_Pages/fall_arrangement_keep.gif
Either put the url of the arrangement in your "find" key or write it on paper.
Take the basket to Image Magick. Put the url of the basket in the slot and click on view.
On the next page, click on the basket picture. This activates an arrow. Move the arrow to where you think the top left hand of your arrangement image would be and click.
On the next page, scroll below the picture and write down the first two numbers. The numbers I got were +87+29.
Scroll to the top and click composite. The offset numbers will be what you have
written down. The left number is the number of pixels from the left side. +87 was
too far to the right so I decreased down to +67. The right number is the number of pixels from the top. +29 was a good number. So in the Offset Number slot, I put
+67+29. And with this technique, Northwest will always be used.
Put the url of the arrangement in the slot and click composite.
Click on transform and trim.
Optional----Go to the top and click decorate. In the slot, put 10x10 with white as the color. Click border. This just gives a little space to your image.
Output as a jpg and single file.
Here are a couple other images you might use instead of the fall arrangement. They might need resizing.
