Using the Point and Click Method

To Draw Lines

A Help Page by Mary

This technique isn't new but this help page hopefully will explain how to figure the off-set numbers and how to use them. I wrote it for my benefit but I hope it will help you understand the off-set numbers.

We will first make a blank. Go to the Image Magick of your choice. I used Redux. On the first page, scroll down.
Under Size, put 350x150.
Under Format, click xc.
Under meta, put none.
Scroll up and click on view.

On the next page, scroll below the picture to the paint options.
Under Method, choose Floodfill.
Under Paint Type, choose color.
Under Fill Color, type in white.
Go up to the blank and click on it to activate the yellow arrow. Click on the blank.
Now you have a white blank.

Click composite at the top.
Put this url in the slot http://www.wtv-zone.com/Kitkat3l/Help_Pages/cutie_keep.gif
Offset Numbers are +0+0 and West.
Click composite.

Click Transform at the top.
Choose "flop".
Click transform.
The image should be on the right side now.

Click composite at the top.
Leave everything the same.
Click composite.
This should make a cutie on each side.

Now For the Point and Click

Scroll down to the picture and click on it. This activates a yellow arrow. Move the arrow to the top of the left cutie where you would like your first line to start---and click.
When the picture comes up, scroll BELOW the picture and jot down the first two numbers. Mine were 70 and 15.

Click on the picture again, activate the arrow, and move it to the right cutie to where you want the line to end---and click.
Again, on the next page, scroll BELOW the picture and jot down the first two numbers. Mine were 280 and 15.

Repeat this process for the lower part of the left cutie and the lower part of the right cutie. The numbers I got for the lower line are 107 and 135 for the left and 243 and 135 for the right cutie.

Go to the top and click "draw".
Choose "line" from the drop-down menu.
Delete the numbers from the box and put the first two sets of numbers that you got for the top line. Here's how I write them--+70+15 +280+15. Notice that the second number in each set is the same. That means the line will be 15 pixels from the top and will be straight across.

Note: The number 70 means 70 pixels from the left hand side and the number 280 means 280 pixels also from the left side. There is a space between the two sets of numbers.

Take out the color in "fill" and in stroke color, put rosybrown4 or a color of your choice.
Stroke width is 1.
Click draw.

Repeat this procedure for the lower line and use the two sets of numbers that you got by pointing and clicking. My second offset numbers would be +107+135 +243+135.

This is what it looks like now.

Time to Annotate

Go to the top and click annotate.

Put your text in the box.
Offset numbers are +0+0 and Center.
I chose this font but use any font that you'd like.

In both the fill color and stroke color slots, I put #A2BCE1.
I used width of 1.
Point 22.
Click annotate.

Click output and choose jpg and single file. Upload to your server.

Here's my finished tag.
