Let's Frame the Oval
By Mary

Again, I will reiterate that this is NOT a Tutorial. This is written to transcribe my notes and is totally for MY benefit. There are many good tutorials on-line; feel free to use them or use this "help" page. If it helps anyone, that's good!

NOTE: These instructions will make the border of the oval on "An Oval Help Page". The numbers used will be the same. See also Make an Oval

The oval picture's dimensions are 384x260. I will add 20 pixels to each dimension and make a white blank 404x280.

The first set of numbers will be +202+140 (half of 404 and 280)

I will add 10 pixels to my original second set of numbers to allow for the border. They will be +192+130. The third set will be +0+360.

+202+140 +192+130 +0+360

Choose fill color of mistyrose. Click Draw.

In order for the fill to work in the oval, we must make the background transparent. Scroll below the oval and choose Floodfill, Matte and transparent. Click on the picture, move the arrow to the background and click.

Go to the top and click composite.

Use a gold fill of your choice or this one. The url is http://www.wtv-zone.com/Kitkat3l/Help_Pages/ABgold4.jpg for the printers.

Choose "in" under compose and scroll down and check the box for tiling. Click composite.

Go to the top and click composite.

Put the url of the bear oval in the slot, choose +0+0 and center. Under compose, change it back to "over" and uncheck the tiling box at the bottom.

Click composite.

You can output as a gif, which means extremely high kbs or you can change it to a jpg. I scrolled below the picture, chose floodfill, color and white. Again, move the arrow to the background and click.

Output as a jpg, single file, truecolor, LZW and quality 55.

The finished gold-framed oval is at the top of this page.
