Using Image Magick


To remove 50 from BOTTOM-using size of image.
300x400+0-50---------------

To remove 50 from the left 300x400+50-0
..............

To remove 50 from the top 300x400-0+50
................

To remove 50 from the right 300x400-50+0

After you crop off, for instance the top, look in your status bar to get the new dimensions. Use those new numbers each time you go back to crop more. Change 50 to however many pixels you want to remove 2,5,100,whatever.

This is Marlene's post of July 15, 2009 in which she gives instructions for an easier way of cropping.


If you wanted 60 off the top, you would use +0+60. The way to look at the image is to go clockwise, starting on the left side.

The first #'s are the left side and the top. And those #'s use a plus (+)

Then the right side and bottom use a minus (-).

So if you wanted 10 off both sides, and 40 off the top, here's what your #'s would be.

First use +10+40 Crop. That's 10 off the left side and 40 off the top.

Then go back and use -10-0. That's 10 off the right side and nothing off the bottom.
