WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIP
OATMEAL COOKIES

1-1/3 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup shortening
2 large eggs
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/3 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1-2/3 cups white chocolate chips
1-1/2 cups chopped pecans


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

 In a large bowl, combine sugars,
shortening, eggs and vanilla.  

Beat until creamy.

 In a seperate bowl, mix together
flour, oats and soda.

 Gradually add flour mixture to
sugar mixture; mix thoroughly.

 Gently stir chocolate chips and pecans into batter.

 Drop dough in spoonfuls onto
ungreased baking sheets.

 Bake 8-9 minutes or until golden brown.

 Makes about 6 dozen.
