This Spring, 2005, interview was absolutely delightful.
Laura's sense of fun and her obvious happiness are infectious.



She auditioned for GL with Kim Zimmer. Kim was involved in a lot of stuff on and off the show
and kept changing the script. Laura managed to keep up, using her previous experience on "Loving."



She also told about her first day on GL (8 years ago) She had to strip down to panties and wear pasties.
She was "mortified" by this in front of all these strangers.
Then she had to go to wardrobe for an adjustment, and ran into a guy she went to high school with,
who told her he was playing a bar patron at this place where some girl was stripping.



She told us that her family and coworkers all wanted her hair long
but it is "big and curly" and gives her problems.
She got the show to agree to a cut by having it written in.

She has two children, 6 and 4 right now, and "it's hard to leave for work"
because she adores them. She has an old picture of them naked on the toilet
and wanted to use it on a Christmas card but her husband nixed that idea.

She was working across the street from Andrews Base in Maryland when she auditioned for "Loving."
She was working in a relative's gas station. She was a major ABC soaps fan.
She had a little television, and not much to do, so she watched soaps all day.

She was amazed to get the part. She acted like a fan, and took lots of pictures the first day.
It turned out there was no film in the camera.

In New York, she was out of her element. She wore tennies, and a scrunchie,
and waved to doormen and cabbies and told them it was nice meeting them.
She was 21 years old.



She and her husband of 10 years live in a wooded area in Pennsylvania.
He decided about three years ago that he wanted to be a beekeeper.



Laura is not into this at all, she just wants them kept away from the house.



She got one of those Roomba vacuum cleaners for a Valentine's present and she loves it.
You can do the dishes and clean at the same time. She would make a terrific Roomba saleslady.

All of this interview was very upbeat and Laura is the kind of woman
you would love as a friend to hang out with, she is extremely likable and one of us.
