Marj Dusay is the warmest, most elegant woman I have ever met.
All of that lovely aura was present during her interview on Soap Talk.


The hosts commented that Marj has the thickest bio they ever saw for researching for Soap Talk. She began as a model, then a member of a San Francisco based improv group, then began her soap career on "Capitol" twenty years ago.


In discussing Daytime, she said much has changed, in that fans have changed, due to the internet. Now soaps are swinging back to story and family, including (recently) Guiding Light. She isn't concerned about the demise of soaps because "where else can you get story?" She also mentioned that everyone has been kept in the dark about who killed Phillip.


She told a story about about when she was making the movie "Pendulum" with George Peppard, on location in Washington, D. C. Suddenly they were hurried into cars, even someone pushing their heads down. As they looked at the White House, guns were being raised on the roof. It was terrifying. Finally, they were told that Martin Luther King had just been assassinated. The City was under curfew and watch.

She also told how at the premiere of that movie she wore a beautiful silk suit she had gotten on a recent trip to Thailand. The waist came loose and slid down. She had to wiggle around and walk gingerly to keep it from coming off completely. It was a long night!!



She gave details on the improv group, and it was surprising, to say the least.
It was a comedy group!! Marj has always loved doing comedy!!



The group was formed by Rob Reiner, and included
Larry Bishop (Joey's son) David Arkin and Richard Dreyfuss.



They appeared on the Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, and Joey Bishop shows.
She was in the group almost 2 years.



She said the group was a great training ground and that getting the shows was not hard,
since Carl Reiner and Joey Bishop were parents of members.



She would love to be on a sitcom. She said you have to be "over the hill"
to get the comedy part. She wanted to "assure everyone I'm there."

She concluded her interview with perfect imitations of Katherine Hepburn and Zsa Zsa Gabor.
She said she does imitations at restaurants and stores around New York to lighten everybody up.
