This is a March, 2006 interview. I was surprised by how large a man Frank is, and pleased how he has mastered the art of dressing very casually without being sloppy.

When Lisa Rinna hugged him she remarked how good he smelled. He was very open and friendly. Sure of himself. Very manly. He has been with the show for 18 years, and had just resigned his contract. He said GL is a "great show" that started on radio in 1937. He said he matches his character in that he tries to treat people the way he would like to be treated. He not only talked about it being a great show, but about Ellen Wheeler (the Executive Producer) being "unbelievable," and David Kreizman being a "gifted writer."

He was asked about the cast cuts, and said nobody likes to see that happen, but you do what you need to do to keep the show on the air. He said we should root for the success of all the daytime shows.

At this point, being a practical joker, he released the sound of a "whoopie cushion" he had with him, and when they expressed doubt he looked all innocent.

When he finally confessed, he said that the day starts at 7 a.m. and sometimes runs to 10 or 11 at night. A long day for cast and crew is his reason for trying to keep things fun and happy. He said sometimes he ties his buddies to the set, with a tie around their leg, and when they get started they drag a prop with them.

He also puts salt, pepper or vinegar in glasses they are going to drink from in scenes.

He said probably they didn't retaliate because they didn't want it to escalate, but told of a joke Michael O'Leary (Rick Bauer) pulled on him. Frank was calling his business manager, who was with Michael at the time. The guy said "oh, Frank's on the line" and Michael answered it. He said he was a "temp" and then said he spilled his hot coffee on his lap. He kept going on and on about it burning, while Frank was trying to get him to get help.

He showed a sweet enthusiasm about magic, and about children. He loves both.

He loves to entertain, and loves tricks. He did several simple card and coin tricks for the audience.
This was certainly an unusual interview, with a very likable guy.
