Tom Pelphrey, Jonathan Randall on Guiding Light, hails from Howell, New Jersey.
He still is part of the same circle of friends and family there.

Unlike Jonathan, he experienced a very normal, happy childhood. He was in Little League, played soccer, rode his bike, and frequented the comic book store.

He says, though, that sports were not his thing. Especially Little League. His head was too big, and they had to put him unlined helmets. They were very loose, and therefore served no purpose.

He said he was a "big crybaby," and one day a kid slapped him and he "so upset." His dad said next time to slap back, and the next day he punched the kid, and learned to not be violent all the time, but to stand up for himself.
