This is a current interview, March 2005 Linda Dano is joining GL soon for four weeks. She was previously on ATWT from 1981-1982 as Cynthia Haynes. Cynthia was the pharmacist David Stewart fell in love with during his amnesia. Her short stint on GL will be as Lena Zucker. She hopes the character is a "raggy old thing." The interview was very sad. Linda lost her husband in September 2004 and is still very emotional. She cried a lot during the interview. She has been diagnosed with depression.

She has begun a "support partners" campaign, which is featured at lindadano.com and also at depressionhurts.com. She said it has been hard to cope and hard to start her days. She is almost 62 years old. Ellen Wheeler, of GL, is a good friend and hired her for her new role. Her husband, Frank Attardi, was an advertising agent. He died of lung cancer.

She started on daytime in 1978 appearing on six soaps. She was on Another World for 17 years and One Life to Live for over 5. She appeared on As the World Turns in 1981 - 1982.

She is going to be doing "Mame" in Connecticutt, and is taking singing lessons. She says she will never be a singer. She was in one stage production before, "Love Letters" with Thom Christopher (Dax on GL) and had a role in "Hello, Dolly," the Barbra Streisand movie. She hated that because it was night work. I found that very odd.

She collects antiques for her home in Connecticutt.

I felt badly for her. She is bereft and it shows. You can see it in these pictures. She was married about 22 years.
