Colleen is like a breath of fresh air. And so very cute and pert!!
She has been on ATWT for 27 years, much to my surprise. It just doesn't seem that long. She started in her twenties. She said that Barbara is being made more human now, but when she is "bitchy and evil" it is a lot more fun to play her. It is also more fun to play her now than ever, because "the character is so rich." Colleen also lurks on message boards.
Her husband, Mark Pinter, joined the interview. (Brian McColl, ATWT; Mark Evans, GL; Brad Green, GL)They shared that they have 6 kids. His 3, one of hers, and 2 of theirs. When they married 3 were in diapers, and one just out of them. They met on the set of ATWT. Both were married already at the time. They were married in 1987. The kids are now 24, 21, twins 20, 15 and 12. I was struck by how natural and perfect for one another this couple appears.
Colleen started out doing musicals. Her training was in song and dance. She had trouble getting dramatic work because of her musical reputation. She was "turned down many times" for soaps. After being off the stage for 22 years, she is now starring at Bucks County Pocono Playhouse in "Hello, Dolly." A video clip was shown.
I thought she was an okay singer, nothing special.
She was thrilled that her husband and children had gotten to see her in a musical for the first time.
She opened October 26 (2005)
Mark and Colleen sharing a laugh. They're a great couple.
Colleen is just adorable. This interview was lots of fun.
