There are no two ways about it. Trent Dawson is just adorable. He looks adorable, he talks adorable, his personality is adorable.

Asked about his being nominated for an Emmy, he said his cast members told him, because he was enroute to work when it was announced. His cell phone was dead, and he couldn't call anyone, his numbers being in the cell phone.


He denied making up dialogue from scratch. He said he might add to it, but never failed to play what is written. He said the writers really do write Henry's zingers. He said, when prompted by Ty Treadway, that Roger Howarth can be very funny. He said when you are a long-time player you are allowed more leeway with the script. He gave a lot of credit to fans and said he loves fan events and enjoys meeting everyone.


His most memorable fan encounter, responding to the question, was New Orleans after Katrina, a trip he made with Michael Park and some cast members from Guiding Light. He said it was very moving. He also related that most of his family is there, but they are okay. He said it was great to be in a shelter and see the only television tuned to ATWT or another soap, providing some welcome distraction for the victims.

He spoke highly of Los Angeles and California, where Soapnet is based, it being "beautiful and sunny."


The conversation turned to his near death in 2002 when his appendix burst, and he was misdiagnosed. He calls it the "can't poop or pee disease," and said the doctors hadn't given him much chance of survival. He was hospitalized for a couple of weeks, developing complications and an infection. He said yes, it somewhat changed his view of life, in that he was more careful about projects although still doing theater work.


He was asked about ballroom dancing, which apparently he excels in, and if he would ever appear on "Dancing With The Stars." He said yeah, sure, why not?



I'm tellin' ya, this guy is just adorable.
