Trent Dawson appeared on Soap Talk in January, 2005. He was happy and breezy. He is in a role planned for 2 weeks that has lasted 6 years. He started acting as a child but only in church and school plays.


He decided he was more interested in academics. He learned a lot fast as he and his high school sweetheart went to France during the coldest winter in ten years while the Gulf War was taking place.



Eventually they ended up in Crete.
He said they were squatters, not homeless "We had a home, we didn't have a roof."



They lived on oranges and olives. They learned that night is cold, and all about hunger.
He saved up money for a guitar, and became a "basker," a street musician.


He realized he wanted to act when he was camping at the Parthenon in Greece. Mel Gibson was appearing in "Hamlet" at the University of Athens. Trent went to see it, and there were 2,000 people there. He was so inspired, he hitchhiked back to Paris for his return flight home, to become an actor.


He met Kim Rhodes (Candy, Another World) at a Shakespeare festival in Wisconsin. They became roommates, and when she got on AW, he became intrigued by her work on daytime. He had earned an acting degree from the University of Colorado,and was spotted by the casting director of ATWT in a performance of "Midsummer Night's Dream."



At the time of the interview, he was on his first trip to Los Angeles, and it was very cold in New York.
He said he was very touristy and taking lots of "silly pictures."


He finds his character to be "unique" and "interesting." His only qualm about shirtless scenes is his "New York tan." He loves the show, and the people there. He is aware that the fans love the friendship between Henry and Katie, and that it is completely different from anything else in daytime.


He told the Soap Talk hosts he'd had a great time doing the interview, it was "quick and easy." Trent Dawson was even more charming and fun to spend time with than Henry Coleman, and that's going some!!
