What a beautiful and elegant lady!
Liz (Lucinda Walsh) is a two-time emmy winner. She has been nominated 9 times. She won the first daytime emmy ever. She is a vet of 20 years on ATWT and 40 years in daytime. She enthusiastically professed to love daytime because she loves the craft of it. She appeared in a loose-fitting casual pantsuit, with a persona of elegance and warmth.
She attended Radcliffe, which is now Harvard, and was asked to write something for the yearbook. She decided to say (paraphrasing) Thank heavens for my profession, where wonderful lines and poetry dance through my mind. And I danced in my "scantys" as one will, and "I'm still here!!"
When she was nominated, "back in the day," for an emmy, competition was not seperated by daytime and night shows. She really could not win. She was competing with people like Diana Rigg, with whom she had attended school. She had classic training in London, yet she loved her recent appearance on the sitcom "Hope and Faith." She would love to do more sitcom work.
For her story of Lucinda having cancer she sometimes asks Martha Byrne for suggestions. She hopes to have lots of gallows humor with the cancer story. She says she also wants to show how people react and change from life-altering events.
She does regularly adlib; "It comes out of the situation." To make a character real, she tries to remember they just want to be happy. They want things to go well, even if they ~are~ an ax murdererss.
Grayson McCouch (Dusty) got her to join him to do "Sweet Bird of Youth." Her character was into drugs and alcohol, and had pink alligator luggage. Liz's son, Jeremy, presented her with a pink alligator flask. She intends to work it into the movie.
Lisa Rinna, one of the hosts, remarked on how lovely and refreshing it is for her to feel such enthusiasm for Lucinda after so long. Lovely and refreshing was a great description for this interview as well!!
