I don't play favorites. Really. But I so do love Christian LeBlanc. I met a lot of the soap actors in March of 2004, and Christian was the standout. He is fun and upbeat and wonderful.

He played Kirk McColl on ATWT (1983 - 1985) He is appearing again, for two days during the first week in April, this time as Michael Baldwin, his current role on Y & R.

Just before this March, 2005, interview a photographer, John Paschal, was on who had photos he took of soap actors. This one of Christian resulted in the photographer having to buy a $75 cage for a $2 mouse he got for a prop. His staff wouldn't let him release it in a field. It lived, like royalty, for two years.



After the photographer's interview, Christian appeared in the wings with a big, black, obviously fake rat on his shoulder. He then pretended to just notice it, and freak out, and when it was time to go ontstage, he danced across the stage. What did I tell you?


He has had 5 Emmy nominations, 4 for supporting actor, and a current one for lead actor. He is very excited about the new one. He said Kristoff St. John called him the night before the nominations to tell him he wanted him to be nominated. Ricky Paull Goldin (Gus, GL) called that morning and asked him what to do with a big bunch of balloons from fans. Christian said to send them over to him.


Christian has been on Young and the Restless for 8 years although it was a "short term" role. His character was all alone, no friends or family. Then one day Greg Rikkart was hired to play his brother. Christian likes that, and Greg. He spoke very highly of Greg.


They recently had very intense boxing scenes that caused Christian to lose 21 pounds. He said those scenes were really hard to do all day.



He said his part on ATWT this time is a big secret plotline.


He had been very nervous about it. He pointed out that he didn't want to go 3,000 miles to his old stomping grounds and be really bad.


He found everyone to be fun and friendly. He referred to Maura West as Mo-rah, not Mar-ah, just like Michael Park told me to say her name, when I met him.



Christian was the life of the party on Soap Talk, just like he was at the fan event.


He is self-effacing, kind, and good humored. He treated both my husband and I like friends, as all of the actors did, but Christian is a huge dose of good cheer.


I just adore him, and can't wait to see his guest appearance on ATWT.
