In May 2002, (and again March 2003!), for the final "Big Bang Challenge" of her latest imaging class, Tiger Lilly gave her Students a 25x100 blank, "transparent" gif and sent them off to create art, using any and/or all of the Image Magick™¹ skills that they had spent the past few months learning and perfecting.
Now, for those of you who may not know what a transparent gif is; it is the cyber equivalent of a perfectly blank canvas, lacking even a color with which to begin. It's like taking a piece of clear plastic and molding its form; reshaping, adding colors in great lines and spirals, blending, shading, highlighting and shadowing, creating texture, body, depth, mood, emotion... Tiger Lilly's students rose to the challenge, and then some! The results were so fantastic that we knew they deserved a "home" of their own. So it is with great pleasure that the Alliance of Imaging Artists presents this most unique gallery. We hope you enjoy the product as much as we love the process! |

¹ The AIA's heartfelt graditude is extended to Mr. Cristy, creator and provider of the original ImageMagick Studio™, and to the folks at Net4TV™ for providing the space for us Imagers to work our magic. We literally couldn't do it without them!
My personal thanks go out to Pale Rider for his invaluable assistance in the construction of this gallery. (The Dr. Pepper™ Monster lives - send more ice!!) |
