George of Brooklyn

Memorial

This poem and background were selected from George's site and seemed so appropriate for this memorial tribute.

I selected the song Watermark from my favorite artist Enya because just as a watermark imprints a sheet of paper for the rest of it's life, I feel that George has left his imprint on many of our lives.

Do not cry for me
when I am gone
because my spirit
forever soars on.

I am with the morning dew
that quenches the earth's thrist.

I am with the sun
as it shines brightly
on your face as you wake
to each new day.

I roll with the tides on the beach
as they dance around your feet.

I am with the wind
as it softly brushes
against your cheek
like a gentle kiss.

Know as you start each new day
I am beside you
I never went away.
I love you for eternity....

A letter from Mary Seagull

George was a very complex guy but one thing is certain, he loved to put smiles on people's faces. He enjoyed helping others, so he and I founded HPO as well as a couple of other groups. He was never aware of how many lives he had touched and how many unseen friends he had and that's a shame.

He always said "webtv was made to have fun with" and so he did, and it showed in the many pages he made. One thing about George not too many people knew, was his life long dream had been to enter politics. I think he would have been a wonderful politician since he definitely had the gift of gab. He was a photographer, a comedian, an animal lover and a true friend. One that I'll remember and miss always.

Thank you, my friend for our many tours of Brooklyn and Manhattan in your prized possession, your Lincoln.

I won't say goodbye now, because one day I'm sure to see you again. So for now, as you always used to say, "10-4" my sweet dearest friend. Mary from Long Island
