Poster of the Week Director

July was a good month for HPO. Quite a few new members signed on and some of our old-timers returned.

We also saw some swell "Nice 1st Sites" and they received our award for that.

We also got great postings from some of our sister groups like AF and Weston's.

A significant number of our members have close family members in active military service. We hope that they all finish their tours of duty and return home safely. Let's support them at every given opportunity.

Norm's sooooo excited about the Big August Blowout (B.A.B.) that his tail is just trembling. This is his first big project to spearhead and with the help of the staff and participation of the members it should be a big success. Let's all make it FUN!

Until next time then,

Bruce

HPO Mascot

Hi Otter fans. It's been a quiet month as Rusty hasn't tried to cook me again. I still sleep with one eye open however. Ha!

I've been working on my entries to the HPO State Fair. I'm so nervous, even though I can't win anything, I do want to make a good showing. For some reason, my tail's trembling. Must be nerves.

Shaggy Cat from Weston's NG will work one of the concession stands with me at the Fair. You can probably guess which one since I'm world famous for it.

Remember, if you don't enter something you can still visit and respond to all the entries. If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter. (Tee.... hee). We're counting on YOU.

Here it is Aug already, and I must say that in the years that I have been on line this past July, it is the month that I have been the most excited about.

First, I have learned to embed a webpage into my email (Thanks Nina), and next I have learned what and how to use the TTF fonts, when I use to see beautiful writing on, what I learned is tags and pics on emails like the one that I have on my page now, I use to wonder how they do that? now I know.

I use to click onto the urls, when I would see them, and all I would see is a bunch of letters and numbers, or it would say that it contains information that can't be used, I said oh well, so I would forget about it. One day a couple of months ago I came across a newsgroup that put out a new tag everyday with a TTF url, and I would see their pages, and they would look so nice with the different scripts, so one day I wrote down the directions to one that I liked and tried it, and it turned out great, I got so excited and from then I was hooked.

And that is why you are beginning to see a difference in my email pages, next I hope to learn the Tables, now that really looks hard, with all of the and and now that is going to take awhile to learn, I guess that I better get a cartridge and get the printer ready for this, And I know that if I run into any problems I will have plenty of help here, I just have to ask. What a great group.
