~ RICHARD ~

I purchased a WebTV Classic in early December of 1998, unaware of the WebTV Plus units being available. I was interested in learning more about the Internet.

The first site I ever visited was "The Bold and the Beautiful." (Which, by the way, I never miss seeing or taping. LOL).

I became interested in HTML (page building) when I received an e-mail from another WebTV user that had music in the background and a banner in the signature. That's all it took. This new found friend explained a lot about WebTV and also introduced me to newsgroups, one of which is Tyhart. Here I really started to learn about HTML. Between reading posts and printing them, I got a lot of information to fill up a notebook. After finding a web page, 'Jbird11,' and a testbed, I began practicing HTML from the beginning about this time and was very limited at best. As time went by, I saved many valuable websites with a lot of help pages I thought would also help other WebTV users besides myself. As a matter of fact, one of the first pages I printed and still have to this date is by Driver70 aka Patrick. Another is MCM 2000 Network. (Curtis is the founder and CEO).

In February of 1999, I joined an HTML help group that included GlimerMann, aka David, The Picky Babe, and Spiritual Architect. "Driver70, (Patrick) joined the group soon afterwards, too. When that group went by the wayside, I got involved with another group. "This is where I met my 'HTML' mentor, Curtis Munger. I learned a wealth of unforgettable knowledge from him. As a member of Curtis' help group, members were given an e-mail page designed by Curtis. It had a menu box containing many referral sites. When the page was eventually redesigned, The Blue Fox Menu For WebTV was launched.

Net4TV published my article about Searching For My Youth. After writing this article, I made contact with other individuals and received help from countless other people I eventually made telephone contact with his former platoon commander whom he had not heard from in 32 years. I am eternally grateful to Net4TV for having been given this opportunity. I am also webmaster of WebTV Top 100 Sites, and also has a WebTV Site ring. I also has a site dedicated to "All the men and women of all military branches who served and continue to serve to protect this great country.

Much of my knowlege has been gained from books and a few websites I has found along the way, such as, Tyhart's. I also gained invaluable information along the way from Jerry11, Driver70, GlimerMann, The Professor, JaxRed, Beth Candy, Ken Dine, and WebWizard Tyhart.

Besides WebTV, I like playing bridge, backgammon, cribbage, euchre, pinochle, and the pool tables (which helped pay for college tuition many moons ago - LOL.

(Thank you Blue Fox for your many contributions to the HPO newsgroup.)
