~ FYI ~
July 2008

BRUCE~
SECRETARY

Hi everybody;

It's been both an exciting and exhausting month.

The HPO 10th Anniversary Reunion went very well I thought. The staff with the member's assistance managed to track down quite a few of our prior members some of whom went strictly to PCs. I think it was as fun for them to get back on the big board as it was for us to see their return.

All in all..... a good time was had by all and it was a blast. Thanks again everyone for both posting and for volunteering your time and talents to make the reunion a splendid success.

The weather here "near Fargo" has been a real hodgepodge. It stayed relatively cool into the beginning of Summer. Then, we started getting days and days of rain to dampen some festivities (but not our spirits!) but our local events including the 4th of July and the Fair and the street fair pretty much enjoyed tolerable conditions. I've become a sucker the past few years for those little paper sacks of (warm) mini-doughnuts with cinnamon on them. I employ the eat a bag........ save a bag method along with the "you should have bought some like I did" methodology.

Went to the VA to see how I'm doing since the stroke. Things seem to be OK according to the pictures but then I thought I was OK before. Had my pain killers raised from enough to kill a horse to enough to kill an elephant. Waiting for a procedure that after a series of novicane shots near the spine they put a gizmo in that fries your nerves using radio waves. If it works it lasts for six months and has to be continually re-done. I'm at that "I'll try anything" point so I hope that has some effect on me. It would be nice to go out to a restaurant perhaps and be able just sit there in a chair long enough to enjoy something. It's been a long time since I've left the house and bed to do anything........ go anyplace........, except to the doctors. Well enough snivelling in my beer. (Sorry!)

I can't believe how fast the calendar pages have been flipping by. Already have seen ads in the paper for Halloween, back-to-school etc. I think the White Rabbitt has already mentioned a countdown to Christmas. WOW!

Well, that's all I can think of for this episode. Be sure to catch HPO's weekly Box Office to keep on top of all the kool flicks out. Remember also that near the end of November Janice and Norman are going on that fabulous jaunt to Tunisia. There will be compete coverage with photos for everybody to see after the trip. He's one lucky Otter I think. Thanks to our Janice.

Until next month then.

Bruce.

Secretary and otter wrangler for HPO.

WHITE RABBITT~
Monthly Calendar, VIP Birthdays, HTML Codes

We celebrated our tenth anniversary, and I had a great time hearing about the history of HPO, and it was wonderful seeing all those old timers (I'm not saying that they are old, of course) coming back to reminisce. Otherwise, we are in the midst of a heat wave here, so there is not much to do except try to stay cool. I don't know how those folks managed to survive in the days before air conditioning!

Members List & Awards

Hi Everyone,
Well the 4th has come and gone and I hope that it was a safe and happy one for everyone.

Now that summer and cookouts are in full swing, the parks are filling up, and the teachers and getting the break that they have earned all year.

So far this has seemed to be a rainy season, but I guess that we need every drop, depending on where you are at.

I have to get some more puzzles to do, seems like i'm always finding pieces missing, and this time i'm going to keep the receipt for them, you would think that by the box being sealed all the way around all of the pieces would be there, but they are not.

I found out that I have sleep apnea, so now i'm on a breathing machine when i'm sleeping, so that I don't stop breathing, I feel so much more rested and able to sleep with my mouth closed now.
That's it for now, until next time.

ERLDENE~
Birthdays and Award Of Excellence

Hope all of you had a great 4th of July. I went to a parade and then to my sister's for a picnic. It was all so much fun.

I wish to thank all former and current members of HPO for helping to make our Tenth Anniversary Party so enoyable. It was so nice to hear from our older members that have gone to a PC. I have saved all the messages that were posted.
Maybe we will do this again for the 15th.

Summer sure is flying by. Can't believe it is almost August. The weather here in Michigan hasn't been too bad: so far. We have had a few days of 90, but, then it slides back to 80.
Hope all of you are getting out in the fresh air.
I just bought 10 pounds of Michigan blueberries. My sister and I used to go out to the orchard and pick them by the gallons. Now, we just let Kroger do the work.

Would you believe it that my car air conditioner has quit on me? UGH!!!! Oh well, that's the breaks. But, I will not fix it this year.

I want to extend a warm welcome to our newest posters: Amy-lovebyrd, John, inge, Cathy D, Cass Decco, and Organic gourmet. Hope you stay around and participate in our activities.

Remember you are invited to join theBIRTHDAY CLUB.

It was especially nice to see Rusty back again. Hope she gets better soon.

Don't forget to submit your sites.

Hiddy Ho Otter Minions.

Well today it's cool, rainy, overcast and just really dreary. In other words. Perfect otter weather. Tee Hee.

The reunion was fun and I have felt honoured to have followed in the footsteps left behind by Tootie.

Doggie sitting Today Bruce's daughter's poochie Carmen. She's a cutie and never any trouble. She likes to take a lot of naps and fits in really well here at the Pod. Home of the famous "Triple Nap".

Jeannie's out shopping for the whole day and I'm fairly sure she wouldn't mind if I broiled the whole half Tuna for lunch today. Hmmmm It's a little bigger than I thought but waste not want' not. We also make our own tarter sauce here at the Pod. Especially good on cod night with fish n' chips.

Next time a report on preparing for my trip to Tunisia with Janice. We even get to go through the Paris airport. Have to practice my French. "Parly-Vu La Tuna?"

Hope to see your posts a lot on the "HPO Big Board".

Respectfully, your Norman Otter.

Practically perfect in every way .......
