The HPO Staff FYI, an old monthly
favorite has returned with news about
upcoming events, past happenings,
personal notes and what-have-you.


Thanks everybody for taking part
in our HPO "Big Doings"© over
this past holiday season. We had a
lot of entries which made for a great
competition. Some great graphic awards
were also given
out.



HELLO to our NEW members. Quite a few new people stopped by HPO over the last couple of months to take a look at us and see just what HPO is all about. THANKS!


Of course we hope you'll continue to post and to find answers to your questions from our Staff and from our very knowledgeable membership. Why... We actually "take" advice too.



Feel safer lurking? That's OK too. But..... Most of our lurkers see right away how comfortable it is to post here at HPO. That initial post makes you a member. So WHAM! You'r in and we're glad to have you.



An extra-special "shout-out" to our very own Conch-mon who has been instrumental in introducing HPO to other people, groups, etc. [some say any place two or more people gather] that may have not run across us as yet.


We tried mightily to snag him for an upper echelon position but Conch has big plans for retirement that sound too good to pass up. Our door remains ajar for him though.



Did we come away empty-handed in our latest Staff recruitment venture? Not by a long-shot. We set out a really big pile of carrots (fresh) to capture for the Staff someone we've had our eye on. A past big-wig in the famous "Holiday-Helpers" and friend and confidant' of the Conch-mon himself, we secured "JOE", aka "whiterabbitt" (That's with 2 ts'). WR has turned out to be a perfect fit for the HPO Staff. Smart, witty, knowledgeable and an all-round "good guy".


Thanks Joe for taking the chance and joining up with us.



NOTE: WR stayed even after finding out the "company car" was just a gag, Now.... That says something.

Hi Everyone     Well here we are into 2008 already, I hope that everyone is doing well after the holidays.     This is a brand new year, with new hopes and aspirations,     The only New Years resolutions for me, is to finish my new website and to come on line more than I have, boy there was a time, that I was on here for hours on end.   After 10 years there is still a lot that I have to learn on this lbb, I see so many things that I would like to do that looks so hard and might be so easy once you get the hang of it, but it's getting the hang of it, thats got me. :)     I have to get another printer, this writing is not for me, plus it's beginning to be that I can't read my own writing any more. :)     Since this is the first FYI of the year, there will be more to say in the next one.     Take care and more next time.

Greetings Otter Minions;


It's been about a year since the Otters here at HPO have had the enjoyable opportunity to have these "Otterside Chats" with the HPO membership.


My nephew "Seaweed" and I have been kept busy with the weekly "HPO BOX OFFICE". It's been a really fun assignment for us to do and it keeps us Otters off the streets and out of the local pool halls. Although..... Seaweed always seems up for a quick game of 8 ball here on the HPO Staff lounge pool table and what with the FREE Tuna Pizzas rolling out of the Staff's Pizza oven, he almost lives here now.



Over the past year, I your loveable (?) Mascot and Lil' Seaweed have each "picked-off" one each of the fantabulous HPO "Award of Excellence". Thanks to all who voted for us.


Remember.... If YOU entered and didn't win (Yet!) RE-ENTER. Also, if there are more than five [5] entries it gets whittled down to 5 (I think) by a vote of the membership. So..... If YOU miss that cut-off re-enter the whole thing again next month. Be sure to peruse all the submitted sites before voting. Refrain from voting based on friendships and vote on the merits of the site itself. Some are almost works of Art. Most have a lot of work in them and others are just sometimes downright whimsical. You'll know what you like when you see it.



ALL MEMBERS: Please help us bring in new members by doing some legwork of your own. This is YOUR HPO. The more members we have the broader the base and the wider the expanse of really keen, neato' things are introduced to all of us.

My Oh My!! Look at what Bruce has us doing now. He's putting the Staff to work.

I want to extend a warm welcome to all our new members. And, also, to thank all that participated in the Christmas Site contest. Your pages and sigs were great.

Just a reminder that there will be sig parades for Ground Hog Day, Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras . So get your thinkers going.
