Tony-2000

What a fantastic year Joe Gibbs Racing has had. With only three races remaining, Joe has got to be a happy camper. Our Tony shook off the sophomore jinx and has 5 wins under his belt, the most wins by any driver.. Bobby is over 200 points ahead in the race to the championship.

          "That's Just Tony Being Tony"

Tony has had a very interesting year. He has been criticized by some for stating his opinions. Well I am a diehard Tony Stewart fan, but I am the first to admit that Tony has made mistakes. And he will make more. None of us are perfect. Tony is an aggressive driver and hates to loose. He is outspoken and says what is on his mind. These are qualities that made me a fan of Tony's to start with.

I hope I never see the day that Tony turns into a NASCAR yes man, like some drivers I have seen. Yes, Tony could use a little more finesse at times, and he is learning that. He has come a long way since Daytona, 1999, and I look for him to go a lot further. I will stick by Tony through thick or thin because I have faith in him. So don't ever stop being yourself, Tony.... Your true fans love you the way you are.

          Tony's Wins

Tony's first win this year was at Dover on June 4th. He came right back the following week to win at Michigan. (It takes him awhile to get started, then look out!!).

His third win was at New Hampshire on July 9th, and a tribute to Kenny Irwin. Kenny lost his life that week during practice at that same racetrack. RIP Kenny.

Tony then took a clean sweep of Dover on Sept. 24th. He came right back the following week to win at Martinsville. (I just love those double headers).

All in all, this has been an awesome year for Tony and the Home Depot crew. And it's not over till THAT lady sings.......

The championship was decided at Homestead, Florida. No one could touch Bobby"s point standings. And guess who won the race? You got it. Tony... It was great to see Tony and Bobby take a victory lap together. Way to go guys!!!
