I KNOW HIS PURPOSE HAS DONE ITS WORK.
LORD, DELIVER US FROM THIS TERROR.

WHAT KIND OF A MIND.......
  CAN CONCEIVE OF A PLOT LIKE THIS?
THE PURE EVIL THAT FILLS ITS THOUGHTS
MUST BE STRAIGHT FROM HELL.

WHAT KIND OF A HEART............
    COULD BE SO HARDENED BY HATRED
  AND DECEPTION, AS TO CLOSE ITS EYES
TO THE HORROR OF ITS ACT?.

WHAT KIND OF MAN.................
  COULD GIVE THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT OF LIFE
TO ACHIEVE THIS MALICIOUS PURPOSE?.

THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS
  WE MUST ASK AND ANSWER,
IF WE ARE TO OVERCOME THIS ENEMY,
WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WE FACE
  IF WE ARE TO OVERCOME OUR FEAR.

WE MUST NOT PRESUME TO QUESTION OUR GOD
WHO MADE ALL THINGS,
  BUT TRUST HIM TO SEE US THROUGH IT
VICTORIOUS ..........AS HE ALWAYS HAS!

LET US TRADE OUR WEAKNESS FOR HIS STRENGTH
AND DRAW UPON IT DAILY.
  HE WILL NOT FAIL US !
  HE NEVER HAS...... AND HE NEVER WILL !!!

.......WHEN I SEE MY FACE IN THE MIRROR,
IT SEEMS CHANGED SOMEHOW. THERE IS A SADNESS BEHIND THOSE EYES THAT WASN'T THERE BEFORE...
LACED WITH FEAR AND DISBELIEF.

I HAVE SEEN THIS LOOK IN THE EYES OF THE FOREIGNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME TERRORISM AS THEY SIFTED THRU THE RUBBLE LOOKING FOR SURVIVORS.

......I HAVE SEEN IT ON TV A HUNDRED TIMES AND THOUGHT NOTHING OF THE TRAGEDY THAT JUST PASSED.
AS I SAW IT HAPPENING IN COUNTRY AFTER COUNTRY.
NEVER ONCE DID I EVER IMAGINE IT COULD HAPPEN HERE.

THEN IT DID HAPPEN HERE . 19?? THE FEDERAL BLDG IN OKLAHOMA WAS BOMBED. I DONT EVEN REMEMBER THE YEAR.
IT WAS TERRIBLE BUT IT DIDN'T TOUCH ME.
I CONTINUED ON WITH MY MUNDANE LIFE.
I WASN'T IMPRESSED.

LIFE WENT ON IN AMERICA AS USUAL.
WE ARE SO BIG, SO STRONG, THIS FLEE BITE
JUST ROLLED OFF OUR BACKS.

BUT THIS..........THIS IS A WOUND OF SUCH CATASTROPHIC MAGNITUDE THAT MY FINITE MIND CAN NOT CONCEIVE OF ITS TRUTH.
SO MANY LIVES ,SO MUCH DEVISTATION
I CAN NOT TAKE MY EYES FROM IT. I WATCH IT ON THE TELEVISION DAY IN AND DAY OUT AND AS THE REALITY OF THE THING BEGINS TO SINK IN, MY BRAIN AND BODY BEGIN TO REBEL.
I AM PHYSICALLY SICKENED BY IT ALL, AS I REALIZE THE ENORMITY OF THE DAMAGES AND WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES MIGHT BE.

THIS HAS CHANGED ME. I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.

ONE MIGHT SAY......OUR RETRIBUTION IS AT HAND.

THE TERRORIST MIGHT SAY..
. IN ONE FELL SWOOP WE HAVE BEEN CALLED TO TASK FOR ALL THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION WE HAVE SOWN ABROAD IN THE MIDDLE EAST. AN EYE FOR AN EYE, SO TO SPEAK.

THE CHRISTIANS LEADERS SAY........ THAT GOD HAS JUDGED US FOR OUR INIQUITY AND FOR TURNING AWAY FROM HIM IN THIS COUNTRY. THAT THE TERRORISTS ARE JUST THE INSTRUMENTS OF HIS WILL.
BUT THEN THEY WITHDRAW THEIR JUDGEMENT- FEARING THE GREATER POWER---PUBLIC OPINION

AND ALL THE WHILE THE PEOPLE GATHER TOGETHER.
AIDING AND CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER.
LOVE POURS OUT OF THE WOUND LIKE BLOOD.
IT COVERS EVERYONE.,
AN ARTERY HAS BEEN CUT AND THE FLOW IS ENDLESS.
A NERVE HAS BEEN STRUCK . SUCH A SHOW OF SOLIDARITY HAS NOT BEEN EXPERIENCED IN THIS COUNTRY SINCE THE 2ND WORLD WAR
WE ARE ONE IN OUR SORROW AND PAIN.
THESE ARE GODS PEOPLE .
.JESUS SAID......"THEY SHALL KNOW US BY OUR LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER". THAT LOVE IS CERTAINLY EVIDENT NOW.

WHAT WILL BE THE OUTCOME OF THIS ? NO-ONE KNOWS. BUT I CAN FEEL THE EFFECTS OF THE WOUND DEEP IN THE HEART OF MY PSYCHE .
IT WILL TAKE SOME HEALING ,A LONG RECOVERY . AND IT WILL LEAVE A SCAR THAT IS VISIBLE TO ALL..

TRAUMA LIKE THIS IS HARD TO OVERCOME BUT AS MARTIN LUTHER KING TAUGHT US- "WE SHALL OVERCOME"
GOD IS WITH US. HE WILL SHOW US THE WAY!

.........................TRIBUTE TO AMERICA

The following, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing. Its subject is "America: The Good Neighbor"

Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.
When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.
When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.
The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.
I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?
Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon-not once, but several times-and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most ofthem, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.
When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke,
nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.
I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.
Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."
Stand proud, America!

Hello to all my family and friends...thought I would share this with you. It was published on 9-15-01 in the Wisconsin Capital Times and written by a member of my family.

      Thousands of men and
women
      Die instantly while at
work
      Terrosrists crash planes,
      No heart, what nerve.
      I cried all day,
      Had nightmares all night.
      This day of tragedy,
Has the entire nation in fright
.       Thank you to the volunteers
      Who also risk their life.
      Condolences to the families
Who have had terror hit their life.
      We need to be strong
      And keep up the prayer.
This is dedicated to the nation and people everywhere.

...........A MOVING STORY OF COURAGE,LOVE AND GRATITUDE.
......recent letter written by Marine Mark J. Francis, stationed in Iraq:   "Just wanted to write to you and tell you another story about an experience we had over here," Mark began  "As you know, I asked for toys for the Iraqi children and several people (Americans that support us)sent them over by the box. On each patrol we take through the city, we take as many toys as will fit in our pockets and hand them out as we can. The kids take the toys and run to show them off as if they were worth a million bucks. We are as friendly as we can be to everyone we see, but especially so with the kids. Most of them don't have any idea what is going on and are completely innocent in all of this. "On one such patrol, our lead security vehicle stopped in the middle of the street. This is not normal and is very unsafe, so the vehicles following behind began to inquire over the radio. The lead vehicle reported a little girl sitting in the road, and said she just would not budge. The command vehicle told the lead to simply go around her and to be kind as they did. The street was wide enough to allow this maneuver, and so they waved to her as they drove around her. "Soon, I saw her.  She was sitting there clutching a little Beanie bear that we had handed her a few patrols back. Feeling an immediate connection to the girl, I radioed that we were going to stop. The rest of the convoy paused and I got out to make sure she was OK. The little girl looked scared and concerned, but there was a warmth in her eyes toward me. As I knelt down to talk to her, she moved over and pointed. I looked over and my heart almost stopped.  There was a mine in the road." Immediately a cordon was set as the Marine convoy assumed a defensive posture around the site. The mine was destroyed in place. A huge tragedy was averted. "It was the heart of an American that sent that toy to that little girl," Mark says.  "It was the heart of an American that protected our convoy from that mine. Sure, she was a little Iraqi girl and she had no knowledge of purple mountains majesty or fruited plains. It was a heart of acceptance, of tolerance, of peace and grace, even through the inconveniences of conflict, that saved that convoy from hitting that mine. Those attributes are what keep Americans' hearts beating. This little child may have no affiliation at all with the United States, but she knows what it is to be brave. And if we can continue to support her and her new government, she will know what it is to be free." If you sent a Beanie Baby to Iraq or a pair of underwear to Arkansas or some canned goods to a local food bank, you took part in this—and you are part of the solution.   Feel good about that tonight, as you thank God for His blessings
