.....HOW TO PACK A DELICATE ITEM FOR THE LONG HALL
----------------------------------------------
........OF COURSE YOU WILL NEED BOXES, BUBBLE-WRAP,PAPER PLATES SISSORS, MASKING TAPE, NEWSPAPER AND "FRAGILE" OR "GLASS" LABLES AND A BLACK MARKER.
.........WHEN WRAPPING DISHES START WITH THE FLAT PLATES. PUT A PAPER PLATE BETWEEN THE INDIVIDUAL
PLATES AND STACK THEM 6 AT A TIME. TAPE THE STACK WITH MASKING TAPE-TWICE AROUND -CROSSING IN AN "X" ON THE TOP. THAT WAY THE PLATES CAN NOT SLIP AROUND. CUT 2 STRIPS OF CARDBOARD THE WIDTH OF THE PLATES AND LONG ENOUGH TO GO ALL THE WAY AROUND THE STACK. NOW WRAP ONE STRIP OF THE CARDBOARD TIGHTLY AROUND THE PLATES AND TAPE WITH MASKING TAPE. NOW TURN THE WRAPED PLATES 1/2 WAY AROUND AND WRAP THE SECOND STRIP OF CARDBOARD ALL THE WAY AROUND AND TAPE IT ONCE AROUND TO CLOSE. NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE A NICE LITTLE PACKAGE WRAPED TIGHTLY IN CARDBOARD AND TAPED SHUT. SET ASIDE AND CONTINUE TO DO THE SAME WITH ALL YOUR FLAT DISHES, SAUCERS,PLATTERS AND TRAYS. YOU CAN DO THE SAME WITH SMALL BOWLS TOO.YOU CAN GET PAPER BOWLS TO PUT BETWEEN THEM. WRAP THE LARGE BOWLS SEPERATELY .THESE NICE LITTLE PACKAGES WILL FIT SNUGLY IN YOUR MOVING BARRELL OR SHIPPING BOX. BUT IF YOU ARE SHIPPING-DOUBLE BOX THEM. PLACE THAT BOX IN ANOTHER BOX THAT IS AT LEAST 3" LARGER ON ALL SIDES AND PACK THAT 3' WITH CRUSHED NEWSPAPER. MARK THE BOX "GLASS" ON ALL SIDES WITH A BLACK MARKER. THEN YOU CAN SHIP IT ANYWHERE WITH CONFIDENCE. (TIP) FLAT BOXES READY FOR CUTTING UP CAN BE FOUND BEHIND MOST GROCERY STORES. BEER AND WINE BOXES ARE GREAT FOR MOVING GLASSES OR ANY TALL OBJECT. JUST WRAP THEM IN NEWSPAPER AND SLIP INTO THE INDIVIDUAL SLEEVES-PERFECT. NO NEED TO PACK TOO SNUGLY , A LITTLE WIGGLE ROOM HERE IS "A GOOD THING" AS MARTHA WOULD SAY- GET UM AT YOUR LOCAL PUB. .....THE BARTENDER WILL SAVE THEM FOR YOU IF YOU ASK HIM REAL NICE AND BUY HIM A DRINK
WHEN IT COMES TO CUPS, SUGAR AND CREAMERS, GRAVY BOATS AND OTHER ODD SHAPED OBJECTS DO THE SAME AS WITH THE PLATES BUT WRAP EACH PIECE SEPERATELY. THAT INCLUDES LG BOWLS. IF THEY HAVE LIDS ,WRAP EACH LID SEPERATLY. NOW I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF WORK BUT BELIEVE ME IF YOU VALUE YOUR DISHES AT ALL IT WILL BE WORTH IT. THEY WILL SURVIVE JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. AND IT WILL MAKE YOUR MOVING OR SHIPPING EXPERIENCE A HAPPY ONE. THEN YOU WONT NEED MY SERVICES. LOL
GOD BLESS YOU ALL. ,MARY.. .

WRITEN BY A CUSTOMER AND EMAILED TO 100 PEOPLE........
Dear All,
As you can see I am sending a mass, mass mailing including about ˝ my entire Outlook email address book! The motivation for same was the excellent service I have received from 2 companies over the last 2 months and I want to scream from the hilltop to everyone I know just how wonderful these 2 small businesses are, hoping that you too will support them and use them when you need their services
Mary's Repairs (porcelain and pottery) Mary is located in Chicago but her work is well worth the effort and expense involved in shipping her your precious porcelain piece/s for re-build and repair. I sent her an impossible situation…a foot high, 9 inch wide Dresden compote dish that had been lovingly cared for (albeit not that carefully) by both my Nana and then my mother. It is a very involved piece with many intricate flowers, buds, flower basket and 2 children playing around it's base, which is an apple tree. The boys leg from the knee down was missing, countless buds and flowers were chipped and/or broken and the flower basket had a broken and missing handle. In addition the large bowl which was intended to to fixed to the top of the "tree" had been teetering on top for years! This woman worked miracles! This Dresden piece is back exactly as it was when it was first created! THANK you Mary! Thank YOU! You are so talented. I ADORE the piece. 6/22/07 MARY H. from Con.
