The next morning the doors opened at 11:30 although the afternoon event was from 1 to 5. There was a pretty good line when we got there at 11:30, should have gone at 11:00. Eventually someone noticed I am handicapped and moved us up to the front of the line. We were each given a set of "pre-signed" photos, two tickets (one each) There were four colors, we were advised to each take a different color) and a souvenier booklet. The end result was second row, right side. Pretty good.

There was a big table with all kinds of GL stuff. I bought mugs with the actors photos and the logo "So Long Springfield.. Celebrating 7 Wonderful Decades of Guiding Light." Some of the stuff was really pricey!!

This part of the occasion was for questions and answers, one of the directors. Adam Reist, telling us how that is done, some fans acting out scenes with the actors, and photo ops.

Some of the questions were asked by the director, and they were not prescreened by the actors. Announcement was made that Tom (Jonathan) was not there, and my heart sank. He was called to audition in New York for a movie part. However, after that he was to fly to Vegas and show up later. Hopefully.

Justin Deas (Buzz) was about the get a hip replacement. He was limping very noticeably, but had made it onstage (up the short stairway) and was helped onto one of the high chairs they were using by either Robert (Josh) or Frank (Frank) I can't remember which.

Justin never does interviews or attends anything, much less with a bad hip, he is a very private person, but I think he did this (just my speculation) because of Jordan Clarke (Billy) who was scheduled, having a stroke. The actors reported that he is doing very well. He did have no feeling down his left side, but now the feeling is back. Thank heavens.

Frank and Michael were in the audience for the question and answer part and I asked a question myself. Michael had the mike, and my daughter got a fairly good shot of me with him.

My question was whether the interior of the courthouse during the Peapack period was real. The answer was that they built a set and that was the set they built. Bradley (Jeffrey) half-joked about the crick in his neck looking up at the people watching a trial. Robert (Josh) said it was the worst set in all the time he was on GL.

Someone asked about the infamous music played on the show the last year and a half, and the director answered. He said he would make a scene beautiful, with power and emotion, and submit it. But up the chain, it would have the music added, and the scene would have some inappropriate song sung over the dialogue. He didn't seem to appreciate this, of course.

I didn't get any photos of Frank taking questions because he was working the other side of the room.
