The merriest season of the entire year... when we all become as children... the decorations are dragged from storage and merrily we begin the adornment of every thing in the house, inside and out, with lights and festive ornaments, and whatever else we have managed to put our hands on thru the years that relates to this joyful season. I decorate every room in the house, and I do mean every room... yes, that includes the powder room and the laundry room. The Malls are jammed packed with shoppers going about their somewhat harried/frenzied task of selecting just the right gift for a loved one, or dear friend. The smell of freshly baked gingerbread that you turn into men or houses... hmmm, maybe it's time to do animals like oxen or lambs or kangaroos or something... I mean, really, houses? Doesn't that make you think of Hansel and Gretel? Pies. Hot cider with a cinnamon stick. I wonder who started this tradition of all the baked goodies? I doubt that it was a woman... thank goodness for bakeries!
