Once upon a time,
I tripped over a dime
Fell flat on my rump
And sat there, all in a lump
In trying to get myself upright
Found I was staring into the eyes of a Sprite
She was small of stature with a cute little nose
Could of been an elf, faery, imp or anyone of those
A bit unsure cuz I'd never seen one before.
But her eyes sparkled as she help me off the floor
And she seemed quite playful and friendly as well
It wasn't long before we knew each other quite well
She told me she was not a water nymph, gremlin or pixie
But a genuine Sprite just a bit lost in Dixie
Seeking a leprechaun's advice to avoid censure
And thinking she'd feel safe surrounded by nature
I spirited her away for a quiet seaside lunch
And gathered her wild flowers by the bunch
She seemed "at-home" surrounded by flowers
And it wasn't long 'fore I was under her magic powers
She seemed to possess a special presence.
Providing some sort of stability in essence
Allowing a fun loving time, all cares set aside.
Everyone's problems and worries allowed to subside
She was a happy sprite, and a devilish one too
Would have all laughing even those that were so blue
She could exercise her will with a squiggle of her nose
Making people do silly things, sometimes even sans clothes
Enjoying all the fun and games on the web
While monitoring posts as they would flood in and then ebb
She'd play tricks on friends and laugh like hell
And throw out thoughts that might ring someone's bell
She had an aura, when one was in her special care
A protective shelter that she would prepare
Keeping those chosen close to her bosom,
Sheltered like some rare delicate blossom
Her care in helping people with problems was bigger than life.
She tried to lift everyones spirits while keeping all free of strife
I learned that size was no measurement of her heart's capacity at all
And that she had given many a boost over the wall
She has helped hold up my spirits when they were low
And her sage advice stopped me many a time from eating crow
She'd give me a kick in the proverbial when needed
And her efforts in growing the group were never superseded
I'm very happy to have met this special Sprite
