October Night Ride

It was raining and misty, a very eerie night
As I walked alone not another soul in sight
Down a path of shadowy bushes and trees
Scared somethin' would jump out of these

Hurrying along I heard a sort of rumble
Turning about to look I took a tumble
And what did I see coming thru the fog
But a huge pumpkin that had my eyes agog

Rolling towards me an throwing up dust
I jumped up fast knowing to run I must
'Fore it caught up to me trapped in a bush
And would squash me like an orange crush

But stepping aside as it came wizzing by
I saw a coachman an let out a nervous sigh
It was the Night Lady late on her way home
Halting, she attempted to sit there all aplomb

But a bit silly looking with her wig all askew
She offered a ride but I think she already knew
I was aware of skullduggery afoot in her mind
Cuz this sexy lady was never ever that kind

She winked at me with her wicked smile
As she gestured to me to come sit awhile
But aware of her many tricks I ran like hell
Before I'd find I was listening to Satan's bell

With my heart pounding an sending out alarms
I ran into the night to escape her potent charms
Hiding to wait for mornin' sun to melt this witch
But secretly wishin' I had made love to the bitch
