Friendship Lost At first I thought the words were absurd The other day when it was that I first heard When realization hit with a very sharp pain As a flash of lightening, on a day without rain No it was impossible, no not my best friend The one who promised to be there til the end Sharing my inner thoughts from the very start Who now had put this saber right thru my heart A friendship dead from a shared lack of trust Lost passions an feelings long covered in dust Already buried by lies, derision, an innuendo Now respect gone too after a last deceitful blow Leaving a burning hurt very hard to extinguish With introspection and doubt also to banish Feelings of loss, despair, and a regret I confess Seeing what had once been, replaced only by sadness By the Irish Warlock Copyright © 05-2006 Irish Warlock, All Rights Reserved.
