Wives Wing - Jane Hambrick

Jane Hambrick
(with granddaughter, Shannon)
Wife of Bob Hambrick
Bob and I were married at Eunice, Louisiana, while he was stationed at Lake Charles, and now live in Arkansas. We have 2 children, 2 grandkids, and 1 great grandson.

Our family has always loved horses, and spent a number of years training and showing them.

Tribute to My Wife, Jane
By Bob Hambrick

While stationed at Lake Charles AFB, I met and married a young cajun girl named Mary Jane. Her mother had died while Jane was still in school. Now she came from a family bout as poor as mine was, so she dropped out of school to keep house and help care for her family.

Then along came a Redneck Airman from Arkansas, and she left her beloved Bayou country to start her own family. Over the next three decades, Jane raised two kids, and was a great mother and homemaker. Then came two grand kids, and Jane proved to be a super grandma.

However through all those years Jane never got over the fact that she didn't graduate from high school. So she made up her mind that she was going to have that diploma, and with the encouragement of the whole family, she went back to night school and got her high school diploma. The thing that makes this memory so special is that Jane and her granddaughter, Shannon, both graduated the same year.
